Problem Patterns are not limited by age or ability or binary identities. They don't have a front person, they swap instruments and roles to ensure that each member of the group has a voice. The band’s admiration for Bikini Kill and the riot grrrl movement led to an online conversation with the artist Kathleen Hanna, who advised them from her Los Angeles porch. She told them that if there wasn’t a backlash, then Problem Patterns weren’t doing their job properly.
We think it's fair to say they're doing their job properly... You will too with this brand new debut album. F**k YESSSSS! On pink vinyl limited to 700 copies, do get in quickly. This is one of the very best. Shipping in time for release day on 27th October.

I want my body back
But not in the way that you think that I might mean by that
I mean I don’t wanna be mean anymore
Despite the ways I tell myself I am flawed
Are you tired of holding yourself hostage?
Cuz I know that I am exhausted
I will never be the picture of health
I just wanna be better
I will never be the picture of health
I just wanna be better to myself
I’ve contorted myself
Distorted version of self
But we should give ourselves more credit
Through the aches and pains and my brain’s disdain
It was my body that survived the lot of it
You cannot hate your way into a good place
Cuz you’re the one that has to live in your head space
I will never be the picture of health
I just wanna be better
I will never be the picture of health
I just wanna be better to myself
If I can’t be body positive
I wanna stop being so negative
Afrofuturist punk from Philly that twists the hardcore sounds of '90s DC and San Diego into a seething mass of wires and roots. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 3, 2019
Melbourne-based Slush's debut EP is filled with feminist, punky-pop tunes that make for an exciting introduction to their music. Bandcamp New & Notable May 10, 2019

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
